Following an education at San Francisco State University, his true passion for cinematography began while filming “Eminent Domain”, a documentary tracking architectural changes within the Fillmore district. For Cameron, this project was a powerful study of the qualities of light and a genuine catalyst to his career. To date, he remains active in documentary filmmaking.
From there, he expanded into music videos. His involvement in the Oakland music scene afforded him the opportunity to work with many significant artists.
Most notably is Too Short’s “The Ghetto," and MTV Video Award nominee, “Humpty Dance” by Digital Underground. Other great artists include Def Jef, Del,
MC Sway and DJ King Tech. Soon after, commercial opportunities came his way. Most notably, Cameron completed a series of spots for Schwinn bicycles,
and Bay Area Rapid Transit. After relocating to Los Angeles, his work as director of photography broadened into theatrical films. Thus far Cameron has lensed
thirteen films. Among the many successful collaborations was “Still Waters," a made for TV drama, produced by Disney Educational Productions. “Angels Crest,”
a psychological thriller that won Best Actor award at the Method Fest Film Festival. And “Rain,” a Fox Search Lab project starring Christopher Titus, and Brooke
Langton. Recently, Cameron has worked with such great talent as Art Linkletter, John Astin, and Dick Van Patten in an exciting upcoming documentary series -
“Radio Changed America.”
As director of photography, Cameron continues to develop skills that broaden his abilities. He is knowledgeable in the art of animation and motion control.
He has become an accomplished timelapse photographer. Specialties include sunsets, and the combination of camera movement and time shift.
Cameron also has extensive experienced in lens technology. Furthermore, he is designing a new series of lighting instruments that will deeply impact the industry.
